
Dale Hansen, P.E., FSFPE
Dale Hansen is a registered fire protection engineer who has been working in the industry since 1996, and specializes in building and fire code consulting and construction contract management. He previously served in the U.S. Navy as a Civil Engineer Corps officer, where he fulfilled positions as a resident engineer, hospital facility engineer, and contracting officer. His areas of expertise include combustible dust explosion and prevention and protection systems, fire sprinkler and fire suppression systems, fire pumps and water supplies, hazardous materials, high-piled combustible storage, and smoke control systems, with a special emphasis on the development of innovative and risk-based fire and explosion solutions for industrial storage and manufacturing facilities.
Dale is an active member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, both locally and nationally, and formerly served as President of the Greater Atlanta Chapter. He was named a Fellow of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers in 2022. Dale also serves as a Principal Member of the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) Technical Committee on the Fundamentals of Combustible Dusts (CMD-FUN).
