DULUTH, GA — FEBRUARY 28, 2007 — Fire Protection Engineer, Jeff Harrington was the featured speaker at the February 22, 2007 meeting of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers – WPI Student Chapter, in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Mr. Harrington is the President and CEO of Harrington Group, Inc., a fire protection engineering and consulting firm headquartered in Duluth, GA, near Atlanta. Mr. Harrington graduated from WPI in 1977 with a BS in mechanical engineering and a minor in fire protection engineering. Mr. Harrington was the founding Vice President of the SFPE – WPI Student Chapter in 1976, and founded Harrington Group, Inc. in 1986.
Mr. Harrington’s presentation was titled FPE Consulting: Case Studies. The presentation described details of six actual engineering projects that Harrington Group completed successfully during the past several years. The projects were presented generically to preserve client confidentiality. The primary objective of this presentation was to give students currently enrolled in the Fire Protection Engineering Masters Degree Program exposure to practical real-world application of fire protection engineering principles. Mr. Harrington also stressed the importance of practicing fire protection engineering with honesty, integrity, and self-discipline.
