We’re excited to welcome Elliot Paisner to Harrington Group, Inc. as our newest Fire Protection Consultant! Based in Norcross, GA, Elliot brings a lifelong passion for fire safety, community service, and doing what’s right—every time.

Elliot’s dedication to the field began early. At just 15, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, an accomplishment that shaped his leadership, resilience, and service mindset. He mentioned, “It empowers youth to make ethical and moral choices and decisions.” Today, he volunteers with Scouting America whenever he can, giving back to the program (and especially the youth) that gave so much to him. He’s also a proud fourth-generation volunteer firefighter, continuing a family tradition of service. “I like seeing the practical, hands-on elements to what a fire protection engineer does and works with. I’ve always wanted to be in a field that helps others, even if they don’t necessarily see it. Fire doesn’t discriminate— it’s a problem for everybody, and it’s incredible to be able to be in this industry and provide solid, foundational support to all sorts of people regardless of who they are, where they came from, or what their story is. ” Elliot said.

His professional journey took shape when he met Tom Gardner his senior year of high school, solidifying his dream to pursue a B.S. in Fire Protection at the University of Maryland. Elliot was drawn to HGI because our close-knit culture and core values mirror the Scout Oath and Law. “Also, HGI just cares. It’s very evident to me that HGI wants to do the right thing for their team, and invest in each and every employee to provide whatever support they need—regardless of merit,” he says.

Outside of work, Elliot has a keen interest in fire service and fire protection history, collecting memorabilia, and studying historic tragedies that shaped today’s fire codes and standards. He values remembering and seeing the people who came before us that made so many substantial impacts and sacrifices. This knowledge fuels his engineering work, allowing him to bring the highest ethical level of understanding to our field and projects. He also enjoys hiking, cooking, volunteering as an adult leader at scout summer camps, and spending time with his tabby cat—appropriately named Flame.

Elliot lives by the principle of doing the right thing the first time, even when no one is watching. His blend of technical expertise, real-world firefighting experience, and servant leadership make him a perfect fit for HGI.

Please join us in giving Elliot a warm welcome—we’re thrilled to have him on the team!
