Welcome Chris Somers – Fire Protection Engineer!
We’re excited to welcome Chris to the team as a Fire Protection Engineer based in Rochester, NY. With a passion for continuous learning and a strong foundation in the field, Chris is ready to dive into the diverse range of projects our company is known for. Chris was drawn to HGI because of the variety and complexity of the work we do. “There’s such a wide range of projects here,” he said. “It means I’ll always be learning something new and different.” His curiosity and drive for growth make him a perfect match for our collaborative, ever-evolving environment.
Outside of work, Chris is a dedicated family man with three sons, ages 6, 8, and 10. Life at home is full of energy, noise, and a whole lot of sports. A former college soccer player himself, Chris now channels that passion into coaching his sons’ teams—passing on both skills and sportsmanship. When he’s not on the soccer field or solving fire protection challenges, Chris is all about his favorite teams and favorite places. He’s a devoted Yankees fan and enjoys spending time exploring upstate New York—particularly the scenic Finger Lakes and the Thousand Islands. Whether it’s a family weekend by the water or a quick getaway to unwind, he values staying active and making memories.
We’re thrilled to have Chris on board. His enthusiasm for learning, commitment to excellence, and team-first mentality will be a huge asset to our projects and our culture.
