DULUTH, GA — FEBRUARY 16, 2004 — CEO and Fire Protection Engineer, Jeff Harrington, was the featured speaker for a Building Codes and Systems class at the Atlanta InterContinental University on February 2, 2004. This presentation, entitled Fire Defense in the Built Environment, was brought about by an invitation from the course instructor, Alice Limer. Jeff was assisted in creating and delivering the presentation by Phil Friday of Harrington Group.
The class of interior design students heard the two-hour presentation, which focused on the basics of fire behavior and threats to humans in the built environment. It included a review of historical fires with a large loss of life. Basic defense strategies that all codes and standard incorporate were outlined.
