We’re thrilled to welcome Derek Gaudino to the HGI team!
Derek, our newest Fire Protection Consultant located in Newton, Massachusetts, joins us with a strong foundation in fire protection engineering and valuable hands-on experience. A native of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, Derek first discovered his passion for the trade while working as a sprinkler fitter for his uncle’s company during high school. That early experience sparked his curiosity about how systems work together to keep people and buildings safe—ultimately leading him to earn his Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of New Haven.
After graduating, Derek gained real-world experience during an internship in Framingham. Most recently, he served as a Senior Staff Engineer, where he continued to refine his technical skills and expand his understanding of complex fire protection systems. What excites Derek most about joining our company is the opportunity to work in a specialized environment—one that’s fully dedicated to fire protection rather than spread across multiple disciplines. He’s eager to contribute to new construction projects and take advantage of learning opportunities as he continues to grow in his career.
Outside of work, Derek is a true sports enthusiast. Growing up next to Gillette Stadium, he’s been a lifelong fan of football and loves watching Patriots, Celtics, and UFC events. When he’s not cheering on his teams, you can find him hiking in Vermont, building Legos, or playing video games to unwind.
