We’re excited to welcome Deidre to our team as an Industrial Process Safety Consultant! Based in Lincoln, Nebraska, Deidre brings eight years of experience in the industrial process safety (IPS) field and a passion for helping organizations improve their safety programs and processes.
Deidre is a proud graduate of the University of Nebraska, where she earned her B.S. in Biological Systems Engineering with an emphasis on bioenergy and food engineering. Her background in engineering, combined with her years in IPS, makes her a valuable resource for clients looking to understand risk reduction strategies, enhance safety measures, and implement sustainable solutions. She is particularly excited about “the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to tackle complex challenges and develop effective safety programs” here at HGI. Beyond her technical expertise, Deidre has a passion for education and outreach. She loves helping clients gain a deeper understanding of process safety, empowering them to make informed decisions that protect both people and operations. Her goal is to make safety more accessible and actionable, ensuring that teams have the knowledge and tools to mitigate risks effectively.
Outside of work, Deidre enjoys spending time with her husband, four-month-old son, and their golden retriever (Maisy). She has a creative side that balances her analytical engineering mindset—she loves crafting, cooking, and baking. Music is also a big part of her life, and when she’s looking to unwind, she enjoys relaxing in front of the TV. These creative outlets help fuel her problem-solving skills, allowing her to approach challenges with a fresh perspective.
