ROLE HIGHLIGHTS

Technical Development

You will gain hands-on experience in design of fire alarm, fire sprinkler, and smoke control systems, hazard analysis, and code consulting. Our staff engineers are given the opportunity to work on impactful projects and build a strong foundation in fire protection engineering principles.

Mentorship & Growth

You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers who will support your professional development, providing the feedback and training you need to advance.

Project Collaboration

You will contribute to a variety of projects, collaborating with architects, clients, contractors, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction to help deliver tailored fire protection solutions.

Client Impact

As part of the project team, you’ll help create safer environments across industries such as manufacturing, warehousing and distribution centers, healthcare, commercial buildings, and data centers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with fire protection system design of fire alarm, fire sprinkler, and smoke control systems.
  • Perform code research, water supply analysis, hazard evaluations, and hydraulic calculations.
  • Develop detailed engineering documents such as drawings, reports, specifications, and narratives.
  • Support construction administration tasks including shop drawing review, system inspections, and acceptance testing.
  • Collaborate with clients, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, and stakeholders to ensure project compliance with NFPA, ICC, and local codes adopted in the jurisdiction.
  • Participate in internal team meetings and external client meetings, providing technical input.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge of fire protection codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Travel as needed (estimated 10-20%) to client sites for installation reviews, meetings, and commissioning activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong foundational knowledge of fire protection systems and applicable codes (NFPA, ICC, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM 360 preferred.
  • Solid problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a team environment.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant fire protection engineering experience preferred, but highly motivated recent graduates will be considered.
  • EIT certification preferred, with the goal of obtaining PE licensure.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and U.S. work authorization required.
