Indiana native Scott Jungels fell in love with the south on a springtime business trip to Atlanta with his first job out of college. The sunshine and blooming dogwoods of Georgia drew him in after a long midwest winter, and that was all it took for him to relocate, and begin a successful career in risk engineering. Scott describes risk engineering as “a balance between business skills and technical skills,” a field that made sense for him after growing up on a farm, working with machinery and putting himself through college with a job in construction.
Now based outside of Dallas, Texas, Scott has joined the team at Harrington Group, Inc. as Chief Operating Officer.
With nearly 34 years in risk engineering under his belt, Scott has, “traveled many state highways across the U.S., seen a lot of the nook and crannies of the south, and enjoyed every bit of it.” He brings extensive experience building teams and organizing operations to the new COO position, and he looks forward to working closely with CEO Jeff Harrington on plans for the company’s continued progression.
“My intent is to take HGI to the next step in our growth,” Scott said. “These are very exciting times at HGI, with a lot of opportunity to expand the company, create new opportunities for existing employees, and hire new talent as well.”
Scott has been working remotely and traveling for most of his career. While he’s grateful for resources like video conferencing that make his job possible during the COVID-19 pandemic, he looks forward to the opportunity to build professional relationships in person again once the crisis is behind us and travel restrictions are lifted.
When he’s not hunkered down in the home office, he and his family enjoy all manner of activities they can do on or around the lake, such as boating, jet skiing, fishing, and wakeboarding. His two teenagers are active in sports, so like many parents, much of his free time revolves around football games, baseball games, and cheerleading events.
A Special Message from our CEO, Jeff Harrington:
Due to Harrington Group’s steady growth in response to the demands of our clients, managing the various aspects of our engineering consulting services has become more complex and time-consuming. Our current engineering operation, coupled with our steady growth trajectory, demanded that we seek a person with experience and talent in operations management.
I am pleased and excited that we were able to find Scott Jungels, and somehow convince him to hang his hat at HGI. Scott is exactly the right person to help us continue to grow, while also improving and optimizing everything we do so that we can continue to serve our clients exactly in terms of the value they seek.
